The HeartSync Love Calculator uses a deterministic hashing algorithm. This means the result is not random; rather, it is calculated based on the precise letters contained in the two names you enter. Entering the exact same names will always produce the exact same percentage result.
1. Input Normalization
When names are entered, the calculator removes any accidental leading or trailing spaces. It then normalizes both strings by converting them entirely to lowercase, ensuring capitalization doesn't change the calculated results.
2. Alphabetic Sorting
To guarantee that checking "Alice" + "Bob" gives the same score as "Bob" + "Alice", the calculator sorts the two names alphabetically before performing the calculation. The order you type them in has zero effect on the outcome.
3. Hashing & Mapping
A polynomial hash function aggregates the character code of each letter in the combined string. The resulting numerical value is converted via modulo math to a percentage representing the compatibility category.
4. Local Execution
Importantly, all processing occurs on your personal device within your web browser. We never send your names, IP address, or details to external servers or collect database tables. Your entries remain entirely private.
